We are trying to help our friend Brad Rickaby gain extra sponsorship to allow him to further his Jet Ski racing career.
In the age of “Social Media Marketing” it’s time for everyone to think outside the box and look to new and exiting opportunities to promote your business and products. Many businesses may not have exciting or attention grabbing products and services which are therefore either difficult or impossible to promote on social media. A way round this is sponsorship of something exciting and attention grabbing which automatically gives you an association and generates you a regular supply of fresh media.
Here’s an introduction from Brad himself and a run through of what he’s achieved so far and how your business can get involved…
“Hi my name is Brad Rickaby, aged 21 from Hatfield, Doncaster. I am currently back to back Pro British jet ski racing champion. Last season at Lakeside, Doncaster I raced at the British championships Finals to win my 2nd Pro stock title and 6th British title overall in 5 seasons. I also won my 1st World title over in Arizona in 2012, the youngest ever racer to achieve this in the history of the sport.
So far in the 2014 season, I have won every pro stock race in the British and European championships (as seen on motors tv) apart from 1 race in Belgium when mechanical problems struck. Im also in the GB squad, and my next race for GB is in Austria in July where Im looking to carry on strong in the pro runabout division, against many factory riders from across the world. The British and European Finals are both held at Lakeside, Doncaster! (22/23/24 August- European finals, 5-6 September British Finals). Which is my home turf territory, where hopefully I can push for my 7th British title and 1st European title.
I think with the two biggest races of the season both held on home turf it is a perfect opportunity to team up with a local company to try and gain sponsorship, but also this will be a great way to advertise your company and get behind the local rider. Last year the European championships was broadcast on MOTORS TV, attracted 5,000 spectators and brought an estimated 750,000 into the local economy.
I work closely every season with the Doncaster free press and know the sports editors well, so if I gain sponsorship with a local company I am planning working alongside the Doncaster Free Press to get a good article about my season so far and also that I have gained backing from a Doncaster company. I think this would be a great idea for advertising yourselves and also I am sponsored by a graphics company so your company Logo/Website will be clearly shown on my race jet ski at these events.
The cost for both the British and European championships for me to race at is 300 each. This covers my racing fees, fuel costs and insurance. I hope you take this sponsorship request into consideration and give it a thought. It would be great if a Doncaster or South Yorkshire based company could get behind their local rider!”
